Otumfuo lauds John Boadu’s contribution to Ghana and NPP

The Asanteman, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has blessed the acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party John Boadu for his outstanding contribution to the development of Ghana and the NPP.

He recalled the leading role played by Mr. Boadu to bring sanity to the NPP when the party was facing crisis in the run-up to the 2016 elections, which ensured that the party won the polls.

Otumfuo made an instructive statement to the effect that the Assins, John Boadu’s ethnic orientation, originated from Asanteman, precisely Amakom in Kumasi from where they moved to their current settlement in the Central Region.

To this end, the Asantehene posited that the Assins are technically Asantes hence he sees Mr. Boadu who is an Assin man, as his brother and subject deserving of his support at all times.

Otumfuo made these remarks Mr. Boadu paid a courtesy call on him on Wednesday at the Manhyia Palace on the occasion of the commemoration of ‘Wukudae’, a festival in the Asanteman calendar that has great traditional significance to the golden stool.

Mr. Boadu, who is the National Organizer and contesting for the substantive General Secretary position of the party, has been on a nationwide tour seeking the mandate of the party’s delegates of the National Annual Delegates Conference scheduled for June.
