Gov’t To apppoint Eight Thounsand Teachers

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo – Addo has declared the appointment of about 8,000 teachers by the government to be able to provide effective and quality teaching to learners in the Senior High Schools.

According to The President, this initiative by the government will help make tuition available for students who are benefiting from the Free SHS program which was introduced in the country last year.

President Akufo-Addo stated that “the free senior high school policy which our opponent said we could not undertake has been undertaking, last year 90,000 more young Ghanaians boys and girls attained secondary senior school than they have done the year before… this year the number is going to be double to 180,000 young boys and girls and in order to cater for this increasing population we going to employ 8, 000 teachers this year in order to take care of this number of students”.
Addressing the Chiefs and people of Mamprugu at the Nayiri’s Palace during his three days tour in the northern region, Nana Addo explains that the government has put measures in place to ensure that every part of the country is equally developed.|Benedicta Bronya
