A group by name Asokwa Concern Youth Association (ACYA) has charged residents of Asokwa to offer support to the newly elected Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Akwannuasah Gyimah to develop the area.
According to the group, it is better for all stakeholders including elected Assembly members to collaborate with the new MCE to chart a development path than to impede his plans.
Speaking to this reporter on behalf of the group after issuing a release in support of the MCE, Hensely Kwabena Boateng, Secretary of ACYA urged residents and other identifiable groups to bury any differences they may have had with the MCE in previous times.
The election of Mr Akwannuasah as MCE, the Secretary said is a testament that the President wants development and nothing else for Asokwa.
The group, the secretary revealed is committed to ensuring the new MCE succeeds in his work at the Asokwa Municipal Assembly.
He pledged support to the Assembly to develop the communities within Asokwa.
The values of the group, the secretary noted is to ensure they work for the development of Asokwa and also safeguard the security of residents.
The Asokwa Concern Youth Association, the secretary stated is therefore committed to supporting the MCE and the Asokwa Assembly to chart a development path for its people.
The group charged the MCE to be committed to developing the Municipality to the level befitting it.
The Asokwa constituency, the Secretary mentioned despite being an elite community has bad roads and easily get flooded anytime it rains heavily.
They urged the new MCE to work out plans to ensure the youth of the constituency get employment.
Issues such as sanitation and security, the group secretary noted are issues that are dear to the people of Asokwa, adding any effort to address challenges at these places would help.
